Over the years, we’ve shared countless stories about alumni whose academic and personal growth had its roots at The Franciscan School. For TFS alumna Caroline Dellasega, her formative years began at St. Francis of Assisi Preschool and continued through 8th grade, filled with learning and the development of faith and friendships.
Caroline graduated from TFS in 2020, which, though challenging, built resilience for this special class. As former 8th-grade teacher Carolyn Moser has shared before, “This wonderful group of students are true survivors! Nothing could ever keep them down—they are meant to soar and make a difference in the world.”
Mrs. Moser was a significant influence during Caroline’s TFS years, which she says was because of the dedication and guidance she provided inside and outside the classroom. The school’s annual field trip to Camp Hanes was a remarkable memory of the fun and quality time Caroline spent with her friends.
Caroline reflects fondly on her time at TFS. "TFS means a place where I got to develop my religion and academics," she shares, emphasizing how the school nurtured her spiritual and intellectual growth.
After graduating from Millbrook High School this spring, Caroline continued her academic journey at East Carolina University, pursuing a nursing major. With an eye on the future, she aspires to become a nurse, driven by a passion for helping others.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Caroline is also deeply involved in ECU as a member of Alpha Phi, a sorority focused on both social engagement and service. Through Alpha Phi, she has been actively volunteering and raising money to support initiatives in Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene.
Looking back on her time at TFS, Caroline has some advice for current students: "Enjoy your time there! These were some of the best and easy-going years of my life." Her journey, shaped by the experiences and relationships formed at TFS, is a testament to the power of community, faith, and service.
