“This community means the world to me.”
Kristen Jones, TFS alumna who graduated in 2010, vocalizes the love she has for our school and the importance of it on her life. “From the mornings in the courtyard to the butterfly garden, I loved everything about my years at TFS,” she shares. Kristen spent almost all her elementary and middle school years at TFS, attending from first grade through eighth grade.
During that time, Kristen had the opportunity to play in every sports season: volleyball in the fall, basketball in the winter, and softball in the spring. Her favorite memories, alongside playing sports, included the Blue Jay Point trip, Christmas caroling, making pinatas, and a special 7th grade project. During that year, in Mrs. Putman’s class, her group rewrote the lyrics to the song We Didn’t Start the Fire, which she still listens to today remembering all the fun she had with her classmates.
Kristen attended Leesville Road High School after TFS, followed by Columbia College where she graduated in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Having played sports at TFS and Leesville Road High School, Kristen played four years of collegiate golf, which she shares was a memorable experience alongside her education.
After Kristen graduated college, she worked for over three years as a Senior Laboratory Technician and Regional Sales Representative at Eton Bioscience, Inc. Today, she serves as a Technical Sales Associate at Computype tracking the world’s critical assets. Kristen has always enjoyed science and wants to continue working closely with scientists. She has high aspirations for her career: “My career goal is to help with change in the scientific world, along with growing the presence of women in sales and science.”
In her spare time, Kristen still loves to play golf, as well as completing home renovations and traveling the world. She wants to encourage current TFS students to “enjoy and savor your time at TFS. Don’t be afraid to try new things!”
